THE MUSIC OF NINO ROTA (a BFG Mix)

Eartha Kitt - La Dolce Vita
Amarcord (Medley)
Franco Ferrara - Coimbra (suite) (from Il Bidone)
Guido E Luisa Nostalgico (from 8 1/2)
Noro Morales - La Dolce Vita
Le Le Notti Di Cabiria (from Nights of Cabiria)
Toby Dammit Theme (from LSD Roma)
Franco Ferrara - Come Tu Vuoi (slow) (from Rocco and His Bros.)
Radiolina di pupe (from Boccaccio '70)

I love Nino Rota's soundtrack music.

The plodding waltzes, rock, and 40's dance hall numbers. The eerie pre-psychedelic surrealist organ-jazz, drunk trumpet pathos, nods to Harold Arlen, and Perez Prado. Female scat vocals, and circus/carnival foxtrots. I chose some of my favorites here (plus a couple of covers). There are many more. A brief sampling.

Enjoy.

Meet The Three Cheers

Lounge act trio on Indie DIY, Boss Records. Very much in the vein of male vocal acts of the time (Kirby Stone Four, The Hi-Lo's, Four Freshmen, etc.) minus the big production backing them. According to the notes, their comedy routine is, "wildly hilarious."

Meet up here.
